Abstract

For fire resistance test specimens the moisture condition within the specimen, before testing, should be approximately the same as that of a similar construction in service. According to ASTM fire test specification E119-69, such a condition is reached when the moisture content of the specimen becomes equal to that which would be established at equilibrium in an atmosphere of 50 to 75 per cent relative humidity and 73 ± 5° F temperature.
