Abstract

A scoping review to quantify hamstring injury incidence, prevalence and establish injury etiology. The objective of this review is to identify studies reporting the incidence, prevalence, and risk factors associated with hamstring injuries in cricket. This scoping review will be performed in compliance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension (2020) for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) Checklist. The electronic databases (PubMed, Embase, SPORTDiscus, the Cochrane Library, web of science), google scholar and gray literature sources (OpenGrey, British Library Inside and ProQuest Dissertations and Thesis Global) will be searched for all types of studies which will include both male and female cricket players aged 19 years or above, from all levels of play, evaluating the incidence, prevalence and associated risks factors of hamstring injuries in cricket. Reference lists of previous studies will also be screened for other eligible studies.
