Abstract

Abstract Right-wing parties and ideologies have grown more salient in several country contexts over the course of the past decade, coinciding with widespread international adoption of social media. This interview, which features specialists in the contexts of Argentina, India, and the US, challenges conventional media determinist approaches. Emphasizing historical contingency and country-level political specificity, it models a comparative approach to studying right authoritarianism across distinct country contexts—against determinism and toward international resistance.
