In a discipline that has beenclosely connected with the birth of the nation states, this developingattention for the flows, circulation and connectionacross borders is not without its risks, pitfalls and difficulties.But there is a promising bunch of studies and intereststhat are developing within the historical community, allsuggesting that they can contribute to the contextualisationand understanding of global networks.
