Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw is defined as exposed necrotic bone or bone that can be probed through an intra or extraoral fistula in the maxillofacial region in a patient who has received therapy of bone-modifying agents or angiogenic inhibitory agents without a history of radiation to the head and neck. Sometimes, conventional treatment based on antibiotics, analgesics and surgical procedures may not have favorable clinical results. This leads to a treatment option with an osteoanabolic drug, such as teriparatide. Objectives: The main objective of this study is to comprehensively review the use of teriparatide in the treatment of drug-associated osteonecrosis of the jaws and evaluate the quality of the evidence found.
