Abstract

We present a review of the Quantum Monte Carlo results on the magnetic,\ncharge and single-particle excitations as well as the pairing correlations of\nthe two-dimensional Hubbard model. We are particularly interested in how these\nquantities are related to each other in the metallic state that forms near\nhalf-filling. These results are helpful in gaining a better understanding of\nthe low energy excitations of the superconducting cuprates.\n
