Short Abstract Climate‐related displacement is analysed as forced and voluntary migration, intricately connected to a web of complex geopolitical, economic, social and environmental dynamics. Framing climate change displacement simply as a voluntary or involuntary migration ignores the underlying power dynamics and historical colonial influences, perpetuating inequalities in governance and policies aimed at resilience. We argue that the narratives of climate change, displacement and resilience are built on a colonial legacy that requires a plurality of understanding and a multiplicity of practices across various spatial and temporal contexts.
