The author explored the experience of migration in light of the specialist literature, briefly describing this experience from children’s perspective. She focused on the parents’ motivations to return from emigration, preparations for homecoming, and subsequently on the functioning of children after the return to Poland – both at school and in the circle of friends and in the family. The most thorough part of the article presents the empirical research – that is, a study of an individual case: a child she works with, a female fourth-grader attending an integrated class in the Educational Institutions Complex in Siepraw (Poland).
