Background: Occupational nursing plays a crucial role in the prevention of occupational diseases and the promotion of the comprehensive well-being of workers. However, despite its importance, there is growing concern about the mental health of nurses, showing high levels of work stress, burnout, and other emotional problems, which underlines the urgent need to address this situation to guarantee well-being of nursing staff and the quality of patient care. Objective: to make an exhaustive description of the main psycho-emotional problems of nurses related to their work activity. Search: A scoping review was carried out that includes reviews and meta-analyses in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian with at least 50% of the included studies published from 2018 onwards that include only nurses and relate working conditions to pisco-emotional problems. The search engines were Embase, Medline, Cinahl, PsycINFO, SCI-EXPANDED, SSCI, Scopus, Scielo, LILACS, BDENF. After applying the inclusion criteria, eliminating duplicates, and screening the articles by title and abstract and subsequently reading the full articles, a total of 9 articles remained. Discussion: Various factors in the work environment of nurses, such as workload, workplace violence, lack of preparation, isolation of patients during the pandemic, and lack of material and human resources, contribute to problems emotional and psychological in nurses. These problems include thoughts of fear, worry, and unpreparedness, as well as feelings of loneliness, frustration, sadness, and anger. They may experience symptoms such as emotional exhaustion, job dissatisfaction, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and unresolved grief. These problems affect not only individual nurses, but also their ability to provide quality care to patients and generate additional costs for healthcare institutions.
