Abstract

Objective: The objective of this scoping review is to understand the relationship between Anti Cancer Drug Induced Pripheral Neuropathy (ACDIPN) and genetic variations identified through genomic sequencing technologies including genome-wide association studies (GWAS), whole genome sequencing (WGS), and whole exome sequencing (WES). Introduction: ACDIPN not only affects the quality of life of cancer patients but also places a significant burden on the healthcare system. Although several systematic reviews exist on this subject, there is no scoping review addressing neuropathy induced by both traditional and new cancer treatments. Our scoping review aims to identify and address the weaknesses of previous studies, ensuring the most comprehensive and updated review to date. Inclusion criteria: We will review any clinical original research exploring the association between genetic factors and neuropathy outcomes related to traditional and novel cancer treatments, assessed by genome sequencing techniques. Studies focused on other types of neuropathies or not reporting specific genetic variants will be excluded. Methods: The search for articles will be conducted in MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, and Web of Science Core Collection. We will include only studies published in English or French. All search results will be exported to Covidence, where duplicates will be automatically removed. After a pilot screening to resolve disagreements, two independent reviewers will screen all studies in the main phase. A PRISMA flow diagram will display the screening and selection process of articles included in the scoping review. Data from the selected citations will be charted in a table.
