De Toni Debré Fanconi syndrome is secondary to a more or less generalized defect in proximal tube reab- sorption resulting in excessive loss of amino acids, glucose, phosphorus, bicarbonate and other electrolytes. Children develop growth retardation, rickets, polyuria and dehydration. The causes can be genetic, acquired or toxic. The treatment is mainly symptomatic and aims to correct hydro-electrolytic disorders.
