The medical use of cannabis is attracting growing interest worldwide, due to its numerous bioactive molecules with potential pharmacological effects, notably THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol). Despite the enthusiasm of the pharmaceutical industry and patients for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anxiolytic, and antiemetic properties, the therapeutic use of cannabis remains controversial and lacks unanimous scientific, regulatory, and ethical support. At the international level, the main issues relate to the lack of a clear scientific consensus on therapeutic indications, the variability in the compositions of the extracts used, the lack of product standardization, and significant divergences between regulatory frameworks in different countries. Clinical trials are often limited, inconclusive, or methodologically questionable, and the long-term effects of medical cannabis remain poorly documented. Furthermore, the confusion between recreational and medical use of cannabis makes its integration into healthcare systems difficult. It is important that access to medical cannabis be validated through scientific research conducted in collaboration between institutional researchers, clinics, and patient organizations. One of the main objectives of this research is considering patients' need for safe and regular cannabis as a priority.
