Anxiety and pain are common experiences in pediatric patients undergoing healthcare procedures, with short- and long-term effects. The use of virtual reality (VR) as a non-pharmacological strategy is emerging as a promising option to reduce anxiety and pain in children. However, the literature is fragmented and a systematic mapping of the evidence is lacking. This scoping review aims to explore the efficacy, clinical contexts, and devices used in studies related to the application of VR in the pediatric field.
