ABSTRACT Objective The aim of this study is to examine the psychological and relational impacts of technoference‐driven relationship comparisons and their influence on relational satisfaction. Background Technoference, defined as the intrusion of technology into personal interactions, has emerged as a significant disruptor in modern intimate relationships. Increasing technology use often fuels relational comparisons shaped by idealized portrayals of intimacy on social media, leading to feelings of inadequacy and dissatisfaction. Methods Adopting a scoping review methodology, 22 articles published between 2014 and 2024 were systematically reviewed from PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Results Findings reveal that frequent technological interruptions undermine relational satisfaction by fostering emotional disconnection, reduced intimacy, and increased conflict. Moreover, exposure to online portrayals of relationships intensifies social comparisons, creating unrealistic expectations, relational misunderstandings, and in some cases misinterpretations of gender‐based violence. Conclusion The study concludes that effective communication, digital literacy, and mutual understanding are essential in mitigating the adverse effects of technoference on relational dynamics. Implications or Recommendations Future research should focus on developing targeted interventions and exploring their broader implications across culturally diverse contexts.
