Abstract

It is now established that ferromagnetic materials placed inside Josephson junctions can convert conventional spin-singlet supercurrent to spin-triplet supercurrent. While such spin-triplet supercurrent is fully polarized in a half-metal, it is only partially polarized in conventional ferromagnetic materials. This work shows that one can increase the spin polarization of the triplet supercurrent substantially by using a sequence of partially spin-polarizing interfaces inside the junction. The prospect of using spin-polarized supercurrents for device applications has spawned a new field called ``superconducting spintronics''.
