Abstract

Using 448.1\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi106 \ensuremathψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we employ a single-baryon tagging technique to make the first observation of \ensuremathψ(3686)\ensuremath→\mathrm\ensuremathΞ(1530)^\ensuremath-\mathrm\ensuremathΞ(1530)+ and \mathrm\ensuremathΞ(1530)^\ensuremath-\mathrm\ensuremathΞ+ decays with a statistical significance of more than 10\ensuremathσ and 5.0\ensuremathσ, respectively. The branching fractions are measured to be B(\ensuremathψ(3686)\ensuremath→\mathrm\ensuremathΞ(1530)^\ensuremath-\mathrm\ensuremathΞ(1530)+)=(11.45\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.40\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.59)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-5 and B(\ensuremathψ(3686)\ensuremath→\mathrm\ensuremathΞ(1530)^\ensuremath-\mathrm\ensuremathΞ+)=(0.70\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.11\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.04)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-5. The angular distribution parameter for \ensuremathψ(3686)\ensuremath→\mathrm\ensuremathΞ(1530)^\ensuremath-\mathrm\ensuremathΞ(1530)+ is determined to be \ensuremathα=0.40\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.24\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.06, which agrees with the theoretical predictions within 1\ensuremathσ. The first uncertainties are statistical, and the second systematic.
