Abstract

This volume comprises seven biographical studies and theological re-evaluations of a range of major British New Testament scholars of the 1920s and 1930s, whose business was Biblical Criticism. They have been selected because they were pioneers in British scholarship, particularly in their contrasting attitudes towards scholars from mainland Europe, and in their preparation of the way for later American scholarly work.
