Abstract We define a very general class of CHL-models associated with any string theory <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" overflow="scroll"> <mml:mstyle displaystyle="false"> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi mathvariant="script">S</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:mstyle> </mml:math> (bosonic or supersymmetric) compactified on an internal CFT <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" overflow="scroll"> <mml:mstyle displaystyle="false"> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi mathvariant="script">C</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mo>×</mml:mo> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>T</mml:mi> <mml:mi>d</mml:mi> </mml:msup> </mml:mstyle> </mml:math> . We take the orbifold by a pair <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" overflow="scroll"> <mml:mstyle displaystyle="false"> <mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo> <mml:mi>g</mml:mi> <mml:mo>,</mml:mo> <mml:mi>δ</mml:mi> <mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo> </mml:mstyle> </mml:math> , where g is a (possibly non-geometric) symmetry of <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" overflow="scroll"> <mml:mstyle displaystyle="false"> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi mathvariant="script">C</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:mstyle> </mml:math> and δ is a translation along T n . We analyze the T -dualities of these models and show that in general they contain Atkin–Lehner type symmetries.
