The energy curve of Canopus in the wavelength range 24004000 A has been obtained from spectrograms having a dispeision of 183 A . This curve is in good agreement with previous observations and with a model atmosphere. The equivalent width of the Mg ii doublet at 2795 and 2802 A is found to be 22 A.
