Abstract

The spectra of two-electron configurations in (jj) and (jl) coupling and of the configurations dn, f3, d2p, and d8p in (LS) coupling are calculated with tensor operators. The agreement with the odd terms of Ti II and Ni II is satisfactory. It is also proved that \fracGk(2k+1) is a positive decreasing function of k.
