Eleonore Hodys was a political prisoner from Austria who came to Auschwitz in 1942. No sooner had she arrived than the commandant, Rudolf Höss, began to show an interest in her. He arranged for her to work in his household repairing carpets and making tapestries for his wife. In 1942, while his wife was away, Höss began making overtures to her. Höss’s wife dismissed her and had her locked up, but Höss kept up the relationship, visiting her cell at night. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
