Abstract

The properties of potential gravitational wave sources like neutron stars,\nblack holes and binary systems are reviewed, as well as the different\ncontributions (stochastic and continuous) to the gravitational wave background.\nThe detectability of these sources by the present generation of laser beam\ninterferometers, which will be fully operational around 2002, is also\nconsidered.\n
