We have photometrically monitored 49 of the more than 200 K giants in the Yale Catalogue of Bright Stars_ which are named or suspected variable stars. Only two (HR3275 and HR5219) are clearly variable; a few more program stars and K and M giant comparison stars are marginally variable. Most of these appear to be RS CVn or SR variables.
