A detailed analysis of the rare \ensuremathτ decay via \ensuremathτ\ensuremath→\ensuremathμee and \ensuremathτ\ensuremath→\ensuremathμ\ensuremathμ\ensuremathμ in the string models with E6 symmetry is reported. It is found that \ensuremathΓ(\ensuremathτ\ensuremath→\ensuremathμee)\ensuremath∼(6\ensuremath-7)\ensuremathΓ(\ensuremathτ\ensuremath→\ensuremathμ\ensuremathμ\ensuremathμ) and these rates are in general about 1000 times less than that of \ensuremathΓ(\ensuremathμ\ensuremath→e\ensuremathγ). It is also found that the outgoing muon in \ensuremathτ\ensuremath→\ensuremathμee is almost 100% right-handed polarized and the outgoing electrons would be predominantly parallel to each other. These decay processes may be accessible at the Superconducting Super Collider.
