Abstract DeFries‐Fulker (DF) analysis involves a series of models that provide traditional estimates of genetic and environmental parameters for individual differences on a trait, along with unique parameters specific to the etiology of extreme levels of a trait. These models are presented along with reference to a new model‐fitting implementation of the DF approach.
