Abstract

Variegated mesocosms, which provide spatial cues lacking in planktonkreisels, facilitated morphological and behavioral studies of plankton from marine lakes. A mesocosm and its application to marine lake studies are described, then several modifications to the present design suggested. Variegated mesocosms are a neglected resource in plankton research.
