Abstract

Abstract A new species, Pachyphoca volkodavi, has been described based on seal remains from the Upper Miocene deposits of the Fortep’yanka locality in the Republic of Adygea. These first findings of Pachyphoca in the Northwestern Caucasus expand the understanding of the paleogeographic and stratigraphic distribution of this genus.
