Abstract

If the problem of determining the effect of specific types of propaganda on public opinion is difficult under the best conditions, it is almost impossible in a country like the Soviet Union, where the gauging of public opinion is in a rudimentary state. Nevertheless, Professor Powell gives a thoughtful and comprehensive analysis of the many aspects that condition the effectiveness of Soviet and-religious propaganda.
