Abstract

We have followed Heywood's advice and written this paper to revise and
\nupdate stellar thermonuclear reaction rates presented in two previous
\npapers by Fowler, Caughlan & Zimmerman (7) (hereafter referred to as
\nFCZ I) and Fowler, Caughlan & Zimmerman (8) (hereafter referred to as
\nFCZ II). A number of new important reaction rates have been added. These
\nrevisions and additions are necessitated by the large number of new
\nlaboratory measurements of nuclear cross sections performed in the
\nintervening years. Experimental nuclear astrophysics exhibits continuing
\nvitality in laboratories around the world. For the sake of brevity we do not
\nrepeat the theoretical analysis given in FCZ I and FCZ II and do not repeat
\nstellar reaction rates that have remained unchanged since publication of
\nFCZ II. It is appropriate that this paper has been written during 1982, the twenty-fifth anniversary of two early papers in nuclear astrophysics: Cameron (4) and Burbidge, Burbidge, Fowler & Hoyle (3), commonly referred to as B2FH.
