Humans, through their spontaneous activities, continuously threaten the environment and jeopardize survival. In order to protect the environment and maintain its health, it is a necessity to apply the necessary strategies and solutions to achieve sustainable development. The aim of the study was to investigate and evaluate the factors affecting waste management in urban areas (Aalishahr city, Bushehr province); The data were collected in the form of libraries and fieldwork, and the statistical population of Aalishahr citizens (about 35,000 people) and the sample size was 380 people; The questionnaires were distributed by simple random method, and its validity was verified by the opinions of specialists and experts on the subject; and its reliability was 0.892. Based on the results, 89 percent of the respondents are aware of education and information about waste separation; In their opinion, 1- Household separation and recycling for reuse and sale (47 percent); 2- The category of education and culture of the people in the field of waste (53 percent); 3- The first motivation of people to participate in waste separation at source: improving health and the environment, and then sales (86 percent); 4- The first solution to attract public participation: providing information and environmental advertising through the responsible agencies; 5- The first factor and problem of collection: lack of cooperation from the public and then failure to deliver in appropriate containers. The majority of Alishahar citizens (about 70 percent) agree with the waste separation and waste management plan in this area.
