Abstract

We construct a klt del Pezzo surface in characteristic three violating the\nKawamata-Viehweg vanishing theorem. As a consequence we show that there exists\na Kawamata log terminal threefold singularity which is not Cohen-Macaulay in\ncharacteristic three.\n
