Abstract

A series of 21 radiocarbon dates are now available for Great Zimbabwe. Within the limits of the technique, this series provides precise chronological criteria for interpreting the sequence of occupations at this famous site. The main occupation of the Zimbabwe culture, the one associated with the stone walls, can be bracketed to a two hundred year period, ending in the mid-fifteenth century.
