Abstract

Within the framework of the effective Lagrangian approach, we perform a thorough analysis of the J/\ensuremathψ\ensuremath→P\ensuremathγ(\ensuremathγ*), J/\ensuremathψ\ensuremath→VP, V\ensuremath→P\ensuremathγ(\ensuremathγ*), P\ensuremath→V\ensuremathγ(\ensuremathγ*), and P\ensuremath→\ensuremathγ\ensuremathγ(\ensuremathγ*) processes, where V stands for light vector resonances, P stands for light pseudoscalar mesons, and \ensuremathγ* subsequently decays into lepton pairs. The processes with light pseudoscalar mesons \ensuremathη and \ensuremathη^\ensuremath' are paid special attention to and the two-mixing-angle scheme is employed to describe their mixing. The four mixing parameters, both in singlet-octet and quark-flavor bases, are updated in this work. We confirm that the J/\ensuremathψ\ensuremath→\ensuremathη(\ensuremathη^\ensuremath')\ensuremathγ(*) processes are predominantly dominated by the J/\ensuremathψ\ensuremath→\ensuremathηc\ensuremathγ*\ensuremath→\ensuremathη(\ensuremathη^\ensuremath')\ensuremathγ(*) mechanism. Predictions for the J/\ensuremathψ\ensuremath→P\ensuremathμ+\ensuremathμ^\ensuremath- are presented. A detailed discussion on the interplay between electromagnetic and strong transitions in the J/\ensuremathψ\ensuremath→VP decays is given.
