Abstract

Using soft and hard x-ray diffraction techniques, this group presents evidence of charge ordering in La_1.88Sr_0.12CuO₄ that is rotated with respect to the Cu-O bond direction. In addition, and importantly, the authors show that the charge order is suppressed below T_c.
