Abstract

Deleuze’s interpretation of Spinoza in the late 1960s was of seminal importance in the creation of apoliticalSpinozism.Deleuze’s thought, it should be pointed out, is guided by a relation of strict fidelity to Spinoza — a figure that accompanied the inflections in Deleuze’s trajectory and in his treatment, alongside Félix Guattari, of numerous contemporary political issues. This work proposes to examine some of the theoretical effects resulting from Deleuze’s interpretation.
