Abstract

During the 1960s he developed a serious interest in ecumenism which led him to found the Irish School of Ecumenics in 1970.After retiring as Director of the School Father Hurley founded the Columbanus Community of Reconciliation -an interchurch residential community in Belfast -in 1983.He retired from the Columbanus Community in 1993.
