Abstract

We present Experiment 864's measurement of invariant antideuteron yields in 11.5A GeV/c Au+Pt collisions. The analysis includes 250\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi106 triggers representing 14\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi109 10% central interactions sampled for events with high mass candidates. We find (1/2\ensuremathπpt)d2N/dydpt\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex3.5\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi1.5(stat)_\ensuremath-0.5+0.9(syst)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-8GeV^\ensuremath-2c2 for 1.8<y<2.2, 〈pt〉\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex0.35GeV/c ( yc.m.\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex1.6) and 3.7\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi2.7(stat)_\ensuremath-1.5+1.4(syst)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-8 GeV^\ensuremath-2c2 for 1.4<y<1.8, 〈pt〉\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex0.26GeV/c, and a coalescence parameter B2 of 4.1\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi2.9(stat)_\ensuremath-2.4+2.3(syst)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-3GeV2c^\ensuremath-3. Implications for coalescence and antimatter annihilation are discussed.
