Gaius Servilius Glaucia, probably of remote noble descent (PBSR 52 1984, 62 f.), demagogue and clever and witty orator (Cic.Brut.224), quaestor before 107 bce. In 102Q. *Caecilius Metellus Numidicus, as censor, unsuccessfully tried to expel him from the senate. As tribune 101 and praetor 100 he co-operated with L. *Appuleius Saturninus and in one of those years passed a *repetundae law restoring the court to the *equites and checking procedural delays. He hoped to become consul 99, with Saturninus again tribune, but his candidature was disallowed and he died with Saturninus, probably trying to reinstate it.
