This chapter describes the methods used in this research. It examines how data was sociologically collected and analyzed. It is suggested that the collective analysis of the 120 interviews of young men concerning monogamy tells us something important about ourselves, how we think and behave, as well as about our culture. This qualitative approach also permits an examination of causal relationships, which enables predictions to be made about social phenomena. Still, this chapter describes how this study also incorporates elements of evolutionary psychology, cognitive psychology, and biology. Thus, this chapter descries this study as a compressive approach to understanding the problems of monogamy.
