Abstract

Sociologist Dr. Kathleen Blee (2002) identified white women as a cornerstone of the white nationalist movement. Through their use of identity classifications and web architecture, white nationalist women coded whiteness into the epistemological foundations of digitally mediated, communication systems and communities, reifying digital systems of oppression. Through my intersectional analysis, I unmasked how the “contained agency” of white feminism is perpetuated through white nationalist digital design (classifications and architecture) to illustrate how gated communities form and function.
