Abstract Tacfarinas (d. 24 CE ), a Roman auxiliary soldier, led the Musulmanii, a tribe that inhabited the southern regions of Africa Proconsularis and were joined by the Gaetuli and Cinithians, in a military rebellion against Rome in North Africa, which lasted from 17 to 24 CE (Tac. Ann . 2.52; 3.20–1, 73–4; 4.23).
