Transition metal coordination complexes are of paramount importance both scientifically and technologically due to their multiple applications. One such application is the study of the mechanism of catalytic oxidation of catechol by these model complexes. This review summarises the work on four distinct coordination complexes: [NNCO)₆Co₄Cl₂], [Zn(L1)(Cl)2].DMF, [CuL].(H2O),et [MnL].(H2O). The kinetic data for catecholase-type activities for each complex are: V max1=17,53( μmol/ L. min), Vmax2=0, 0485 (μmol/ L. min) , Vmax3 =37,5 (μmol/ L. min) , Vmax4= 8,16 μmol/ L. min);Km1= 0,04 M,km2 0,0506 M, Km3=6,25x10-3 et Km4=0,81x10-3M
