Abstract

We report on a measurement of the mass dependence of the forward-backward charge asymmetry, AFB, and production cross section d\ensuremathσ/dM for e+e^\ensuremath- pairs with mass Mee&gt;40GeV/c2. The data sample consists of 108pb^\ensuremath-1 of pp collisions at √(s)\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex1.8\phantom\rule0ex0exTeV taken by the Collider Detector at Fermilab during 1992--1995. The measured asymmetry and d\ensuremathσ/dM are compared with the predictions of the standard model and a model with an extra Z^\ensuremath' gauge boson.
