We report first configuration interaction calculations of hyperfine constants A_\ensuremath\Vert and the effective electric field Wd acting on the electric-dipole moment of the electron, in two excited electronic states of 207PbO. A combined scheme of correlation calculations is also developed and applied to studying the core properties. The obtained hyperfine constants, A_\ensuremath\Vert=\ensuremath-3826\phantom\rule0.3em0exMHz for the a(1) state and A_\ensuremath\Vert=4887\phantom\rule0.3em0exMHz for the B(1) state, are in very good agreement with the experimental data, \ensuremath-4113\phantom\rule0.3em0exMHz and 5000\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi200\phantom\rule0.3em0exMHz, respectively. We find Wd=\ensuremath-(6.1_\ensuremath-0.6+1.8)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi1024\phantom\rule0.3em0exHz∕(e\phantom\rule0.2em0excm) for a(1), and Wd=\ensuremath-(8.0\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi1.6)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi1024\phantom\rule0.3em0exHz∕(e\phantom\rule0.2em0excm) for B(1).
