Abstract The 1:1 molar reaction of the V(III) complex (I) or its Ti(III) analogue with sodium 2,6‐dialkylphenolates such as (II) leads to the monomeric five‐coordinate complexes (IIIa) (space group P2 1 /n, Z=4) and (IIIb) (yield 62%; P2 1 /c, Z=4).
