Abstract

In this paper we study the effects of \stackrel\ensuremath→sd+2 gluon on KL\ensuremath→\ensuremathγ\ensuremathγ in the standard model. We find that this interaction can induce new sizable SU(3) and U(3) nonet breaking effects in KL\ensuremath-\ensuremathη,\ensuremathη^\ensuremath' transitions and therefore in KL\ensuremath→\ensuremathγ\ensuremathγ due to large matrix elements of 〈\ensuremathη(\ensuremathη^\ensuremath')|\ensuremathαsG_\ensuremathμ\ensuremathνaGa^\ensuremathμ\ensuremathν|0〉 from the QCD anomaly. These new effects play an important role in explaining the observed value. We also study the effects of this interaction on the contribution to \ensuremathΔm_KL\ensuremath-KS.
