This chapter analyses the well used biometric matching techniques. The biometric based user authentication scheme is designed for a Service Provider who provides more than one service. In cloud computing the registration of a new user and the future login are dependent on the credit card details and the user’s email address. Hence, there is a need for a more secure authentication scheme to enhance the usage of the cloud resource both for the resource provider and the user. A trusted cloud computing paradigm was proposed which included a trusted third party for user and server authentication. An elliptic curve based anonymous authentication was proposed for securing a mobile cloud environment. A cloud environment has dedicated systems, servers to provide the service promised by the service providers. As cloud computing is gaining more popularity, more importance is given to security issues such as, authentication, access control, storage, storage security and virtualization.
