Abstract

Abstract This article discusses the institutional arrangements of rational choice institutionalism, as well as the patterns and regularities that they produce. It reviews several theoretical ways that institutions are interpreted by rational choice theorists, and then surveys the progress made in understanding structured and unstructured institutions. This article also studies the limitations of rational choice institutionalism.
