We explore the \ensuremathΔI=(1)/(2) rule and \ensuremathε^\ensuremath'/\ensuremathε in \stackrel\ensuremath→K\ensuremathπ\ensuremathπ transitions using a Dyson-Schwinger equation model. Exploiting the feature that quantum chromodynamics penguin operators direct KS0 transitions through 0++ intermediate states, we observe an enhancement of \stackrel\ensuremath→K\ensuremathπ\ensuremathπI=0 transitions from the contribution of a putative light \ensuremathσ-meson. This mechanism also affects \ensuremathε^\ensuremath'/\ensuremathε.
