A measurement of the mass of the W boson is presented based on a sample of 5982 W\ensuremath→e\ensuremathν decays observed in pp collisions at √(s)\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex1.8TeV with the D0 detector during the 1992--1993 run. From a fit to the transverse mass spectrum, combined with measurements of the Z boson mass, the W boson mass is measured to be MW\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex80.350\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.140(stat)\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.165(syst)\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.160(scale)GeV/c2.
